Just finished watching Gojira (the original 1954 Godzilla, subtitled, in black & white) and now watching a different one with Godzilla, Rodan, and Ghidorah in it, which is dubbed in color and is much campier. I am actually sitting on the couch next to Stu, w/ tears in my eyes, because we're watching Japanese movies and cracking jokes. A well-made, MTV-aired documentary that is poignant while also eschewing overt sentimentality, Im Still Here tells the stories of youthful Holocaust victim. So I told Stu, that what with technology and all, I could imagine that 100 years from now, we'd still be sitting on a couch, and all I'd have to do is lift a finger and look at him, and he'd laugh. Most of these jokes started out as a single incident, of course, that meant very little at the time, and then the other brought it up again (or the original instigator remembered it, and brought it up again), and sometimes. A decisively collaborative effort, Levy combines the talents of some of today’s most respected artists on one disc.
And can't get much smaller than just Stu & me. An incredibly heartbreaking track off a creative album, While Im Still Here brings to mind mortality, not only of the listener but also of the artist. Multi-award-winning songwriter Bob Levy’s new CD, While I’m Still Here, is his most ambitious album to date, featuring a wide variety of quality singers and musicians.
